The story of Asteria Taverna begins in 1963, on the golden shores of Alykes, Zakynthos. It was here that Labrinos Piskopos, a fisherman and winemaker, and his wife Zaharenia, opened a small family tavern, guided by a shared love of good food and heartfelt hospitality.
With recipes passed down through generations and inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Zakynthos, Labrinos brought his catch straight from the sea to the kitchen. Zaharenia added her handmade touches—aromatic spices, sun-ripened vegetables, fresh herbs from the garden. Together, they created more than just a restaurant. They created a place where guests became friends, and where food told a story.
